In Loving Memory of Bryan Raymond Burch

Bryan’s Journal of Miracles
As told by his mom …

Eternal Flame Bryan R. Burch Eternal Flame

March 17, 1980 - January 9, 2004

This page is to document the many "signs" and "visits" that Bryan has made to us since his passing ... miracles to those of us who have received them. The one thing that makes these miracles more than just coincidences is the "feeling" that comes over you when these occur. Everyone has expressed the same sensation of warmth, peace, and love that flows through you when they happen and the "knowing" that you are experiencing a true miracle. Unfortunately, this feeling cannot be captured on paper, yet it is so strong and so overwhelming that it makes the occurrence believable beyond a doubt. Keep that in mind when reading these because that feeling happened to each person for every one of these instances ... and as we heard three times from different sources within the first two days of his passing ...

"Remember ... there are no coincidences!"

Darlene called me this afternoon with an amazing story of signs she's been getting from Bryan.  A little background ... she works night shifts one Saturday night a month and she and another girl were the only two working.  Two months ago, when she was at work, she and her friend went on their "lunch" break.   The other girl said something that reminded Darlene of Bryan and she was thinking of him when all of the overhead lights (the room had those fluorescent panels covering the ceiling) went out EXCEPT the panel directly over them!  She thought to herself of Bryan but didn't say anything.  A few minutes later, all of the lights came back on.  When she left the room, she turned the light switch on and off a few times to see if she could recreate the one panel staying on and it didn't happen (of course!).  So ... pretty amazing ... but that wasn't all.  That occurred two months ago.  Well, last month when they were working their Saturday night shift, she and the same girl went to the break room again.  They sat in a different area and -- sure enough -- ALL of the lights went out again EXCEPT the one directly overhead.  She made a note of the location and said that it was definitely a different light where they were sitting this time.  Now she was pretty sure it was Bryan but again didn't say anything (her friend didn't know about Bryan) but they both commented about how bizarre it was.  Well, I guess Bryan was not to be denied.  Last night, when the two of them again went on their lunch break, they BOTH consciously thought about the last two incidents and deliberately sat at a table completely across the room from where the other two lights were.  And AGAIN the very same thing occurred!  She knew it was Bryan this time.  And Bryan confirmed it within minutes of her calling me.  After she hung up, she was filling in her hubby about it.  He had known of the previous two incidents but she hadn't told him about last night yet.  All of a sudden he noticed the song that was playing on the radio:  Signs!  Remember that song from the 70's?  Well, that's what was playing.  When I looked up the lyrics, one verse in particular jumped out at me:

And the sign said, "Everybody welcome. Come in, kneel down and pray"
But when they passed around the plate at the end of it all, I didn't have a penny to pay
So I got me a pen and a paper and I made up my own little sign
I said, "Thank you, Lord, for thinkin' 'bout me. I'm alive and doin' fine."
Wooo!

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign
Blockin' out the scenery, breakin' my mind
Do this, don't do that, can't you read the sign?

How can you possibly doubt when something like that happens?  There's just no way!   Bryan always confirms things whenever you have any doubts and this time he did it big time.  When Darlene called me, the song was still playing in the background.  I just got tingles all over and knew he was there.

Yesterday as I got in my car to go home from work, the song that came on the radio as I turned on the car was "Angel" by Aerosmith.  No biggie ... it made me think of Bryan and I smiled at the photo of him I have on my dashboard, but I didn't really think of it as a "sign" from him, just a coincidence.  But then today, when I started up my car to go in to work, guess what was playing on the radio?  Yep!  You guess it ... "Angel" by Aerosmith.  What are the chances?!?

Wow!  A crazy sequence of events has happened beginning yesterday afternoon.  I went to pick up Amberly as she was coming in to work with me and as I was waiting in the car at her house, the song by Queen "Another One Bites the Dust" was playing on the radio.  I was singing along with it and not thinking much about it.  When she got in the car, the song was over but I was still singing it.  Then we started talking and I didn't think about it for several minutes but all of a sudden I realized that the music had disappeared (which shouldn't happen on Sirius radio) and some talk station was on.  I looked at the readout on the screen and it was Court TV Radio on Sirius.  OK ... no big deal ... EXCEPT that I never listen to Court TV Radio.  In fact, Amberly had set a pre-set button for that station months ago when I first got my car because she watches Court TV all the time.  So I thought she had switched the channel.  But when I asked her, she said, "Mom, I didn't touch the radio at all!"  I knew it had to be Bryan ... he would do that to get our attention and to let us know he was with us.  Even stranger is that Sirius has THREE different pre-set screens, and each screen allows you to select 6 channels to pre-set.  I always listen to the channels on Screen 1.  The Court TV Radio station preset was on Screen 2.  So not only would we have had to switch to the Screen 2, we would then have had to select the Court TV pre-set.  But we didn't!  Neither of us went anywhere near the radio.  So it had to be Bryan!

Eternal Flame

Later the same day (yesterday), as I pulled into the driveway after driving home from work, the song "867-5309" - the "Jenny" song that Bryan used in a BIG way early on after he passed to let us know he'd hooked up with Jenny Wittberger.  Anyway, I hadn't heard that song for a year or more and so I immediately connected it to Bryan and felt he was letting me know he was with Jenny.  Mike came out to the car to greet me and heard the song playing, so that was pretty cool.  Another "hello" from Bryan and Jenny.  But it continues ...

Eternal Flame

Today Mike and I got into the car to go shopping together and as soon as we pulled out of the driveway, the Queen song "Another One Bites the Dust" came on the radio again!  I had told Mike about the incident yesterday so we both thought this was a pretty strong coincidence that this same song would come on again.  I laughed and said out loud to him, "Yeah, and if the Jenny song comes on after it, I'll pass out!"  Knowing, of course, that that couldn't happen.  Could it?  Well, Bryan rose to the challenge!  It didn't come on after it -- not exactly -- it came on SECOND after it.  I guess it took him one song to be able to figure out how to do it!  LOL  But sure enough, the Jenny song came on with only one song in between.  I literally had goosebumps, the hair on my neck was standing up, and I started to cry.  It was SUCH a powerful moment I could almost feel his presence in the car with us.  It totally, totally blew me away!  And moments later a hawk flew by our car.   I know he wants us to know he's thinking about us this Thanksgiving and he's letting us know that he's with his new friends in heaven enjoying it as well.

Note:  If you have a story or experience with Bryan, please email it to me and I will add it to his journal.  These incidents have given our family great peace and joy in knowing that Bryan is still with us, if only in spirit, and will live forever in our hearts.
