In Loving Memory of Bryan Raymond Burch

Bryan’s Journal of Miracles
As told by his mom …

Eternal Flame Bryan R. Burch Eternal Flame

March 17, 1980 - January 9, 2004

This page is to document the many "signs" and "visits" that Bryan has made to us since his passing ... miracles to those of us who have received them. The one thing that makes these miracles more than just coincidences is the "feeling" that comes over you when these occur. Everyone has expressed the same sensation of warmth, peace, and love that flows through you when they happen and the "knowing" that you are experiencing a true miracle. Unfortunately, this feeling cannot be captured on paper, yet it is so strong and so overwhelming that it makes the occurrence believable beyond a doubt. Keep that in mind when reading these because that feeling happened to each person for every one of these instances ... and as we heard three times from different sources within the first two days of his passing ...

"Remember ... there are no coincidences!"

This morning Mike and I were talking about our new puppies that we will be bringing home next weekend.  We had both been reading a manual about housebreaking your puppy in 7 days (wishful thinking!!).  Anyway, he had the idea that we could get a couple of chains and tie them to the tree outside in the front yard where they could romp and play and go potty out there.  I thought it was a good idea.  But Bryan thought otherwise!  Mike went out to the spa moments after our discussion and what occurred brought him running back into the house with, he felt, a very powerful message from Bryan.  As he was in the spa, he noticed an egret flying toward our yard and it landed at the top of one of our pine trees right above him.  This in itself was amazing as we never see large birds like that around here.  But what followed was even more amazing.  A hawk flew into the yard and landed at the top of another pine tree and sat watching the egret.   Next thing he knew, the egret took off and the hawk immediately took off in pursuit.  Whether it was stocking it or just chasing it out of it's territory, he couldn't see.  But the message he got loud and clear from Bryan was "DO NOT leave the puppies outside on a chain!  I can send you hawks, but I can't control their behavior.  The puppies are about the size of the egret and the hawks would see them as prey.  NEVER leave them outside alone!"  When he told me this, he actually shivered with the vision he had had.  I'm so glad Bryan told him that as I would never have connected the egret and the hawk to our puppies being in the yard.  But he's absolutely right ... until they get a little bigger, I must remember that hawks aren't just signs for us, they are also predators and Bryan cannot control their instincts.  Thanks, Bryan, for the heads up!

Today was such an amazing day!   We were going to pick up our puppies.   Even though we had picked our two favorites, I knew someone else had first pick of the litter and might take one of ours.  However, I had faith that Bryan directed us to the two we picked for a reason and that they would still both be there when we arrived.  Before we left this morning, Mike went out to the car and a hawk flew down right over his head and then up into our oak tree!  He came in to get me and show it to me, but by the time I got out there, the hawk was gone.  But in its place was a red balloon stuck in the tree!  I immediately connected the red balloon the the red labs we were going to get.   To me, this was a definite validation that the hawk was a sign from Bryan that he would be with us today.  And he was!  We saw so many hawks on the way there that I couldn't believe it.  And at one point, we saw two hang gliders alongside the roadway in Ohio, both flying from bright red sails!  So I knew both our pups would be waiting for us.  And they were!  We brought Ruby Tuesday and Ginger Sandy Lou home with us today.   Ginger has Sandy's eyes and I almost can feel Sandy's spirit in her.  Ginger had been our first choice because she took to us so strongly the day we went up there, but I believe Bryan made Ruby #17 (the microchip number) because he knew I wouldn't be able to leave #17.  So we have two new babies and they are the most adorable little things!  I'm so happy we got them both.  They are a handful, but we already love them to pieces.  As we were driving home, we had another sign from Bryan.  One of the lights on my dashboard kept coming on "Adv. Track On/Off" ... this is always on and it never beeps and lights up at me ... NEVER ... yet it did it three or four times within five minutes as we drove home.  Then it stopped and hasn't done it again.

Note:  If you have a story or experience with Bryan, please email it to me and I will add it to his journal.  These incidents have given our family great peace and joy in knowing that Bryan is still with us, if only in spirit, and will live forever in our hearts.
